With international travel relegated to our dreams these days, we’ve been hitting the road in search of adventure and exploration closer to home. We recently took a road trip to one of our favorite Western destinations: Jackson Hole, Wyoming. JACKSON HOLE PACKING LIST:
FALL BOOTIES: Pack a pair of booties or Chelsea Boots with a low heel to explore the town’s shops, galleries, and restaurants. These Rag & Bone Walker Boots were made for walking around Jackson.
COMFY SNEAKERS: We like to wear these cool but comfy Veja Sneakers on road trips and to give our feet a break from boots. But you can also wear these for a day of casual sightseeing at Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone.
HIKING BOOTS: If you plan to do some hiking or more serious exploring in Grand Teton or Yellowstone, pack a pair of hiking boots like these classic Eddie Bauer boots or these sturdy but stylish shearling-lined boots by Moncler.
WARM SOCKS: Slip into a pair of cozy camp socks at night when you’re hanging out by the fire or pair them with your hiking boots for a day of exploring. We like the sock game at Madewell.
COZY SWEATERS: We typically pack 2-3 sweaters for variety, but if you’re only traveling for a weekend you could get by with 1-2 sweaters. Some of our favorite fall sweaters are from A.L.C., Jenni Kayne, Koo De Ker, Reformation, Everlane, and H&M.
JEANS: No western wardrobe is complete with a pair of classic blue jeans. We love the tried and true dungarees from Levi’s and the modern renditions of 90s-era denim by Agolde.
DENIM JACKET: Listen, if there’s anywhere you can rock a Canadian Tuxedo in style it’s in Jackson Hole. Layer your denim jacket over your sweaters for a light outer layer during the day. We like this classic denim jacket from Madewell and this modern style from Anine Bing.
FLANNEL SHIRT: We like to pack a flannel shirt to throw over a white tee when it’s cool outside or to layer under sweaters for added warmth. Our current favorite flannel is this plaid version by Jenni Kayne.
DENIM SHIRT: Just like a pair of blue jeans, a classic denim shirt is a western staple and as American as apple pie. We’re crushing on this modern O’Keefee Shirt by Jenni Kayne and this cotton Sezane shirt with a chic French twist.
WHITE TEE: We always pack a simple white tee to layer under sweaters when the temps drop or pair with a denim jacket and a scarf.
OVERSIZED SCARF: Pair an oversized scarf with a sweater during the day or bundle up with a scarf and coat at night. We love Zara and Mango for autumn scarves at a great price. Bonus points for an oversized scarf in a plaid, checked, or houndstooth pattern!
WOOL HAT: You can’t go to Jackson without a good hat, and we love the Rebecca Wool Hat from Koo De Ker. This wool felt fedora or this leather-trimmed version would also do the trick.
SWEATS: A matching sweatsuit provides comfort and style for the drive to and from Jackson Hole. Our favorite sets come from Madewell and Reformation.
PUFFY COAT: For chilly nights, bundle up in a puffy coat that still provides a dose of style. We love this Sleeping Bag Puffer from Everlane, this North Face Down Parka, and these stylish puffer options from Shopbop.
