Park City Travel Guide

Where to Stay, Eat, Shop & Play in Park City, Utah

Whether you’re headed to Park City for a ski vacation or a summer escape, there’s no shortage of ways to spend your days in this charming mountain town. Just a 30-minute drive or Lyft ride from the Salt Lake International Airport, Park City offers breathtaking scenery, a bustling restaurant scene, local shopping, endless recreation, and a laid-back but lively atmosphere. Below, check out the H&D Travel Guide to Park City, including where to stay, what to eat, where to shop, and things to do in both winter and summer.

WHERE TO STAY IN PARK CITY

Bunk up for the weekend at the Washington School House Hotel, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Park City’s historic Main Street. The boutique hotel occupies a former school house and features a luxe, all-white interior with lacquered antler and crystal chandeliers, an antique-filled living room with a large fireplace, and a winding staircase that leads to 12 cozy-chic guest rooms. There's also a heated pool and a hot tub tucked behind the hotel. A private chef prepares breakfast daily and après-ski eats for guests, and cocktail hour is an evening ritual.

For a resort experience on a grander scale, splurge on a stay at the Montage Deer Valley, St. Regis Deer Valley, Stein Eriksen Lodge, or the new Lodge at Blue Sky, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. All four hotels offer luxe lodging with plush accommodations, fine dining options, and top-notch spas.

For family-friendly options located right on Main Street, check out the Marriott Summit Watch or Treasure Mountain Inn. There are also a plethora of home rentals and Airbnb options, from massive mountain cabins tucked away in the woods to cozy cottages located closer to town.

For a romantic weekend getaway or a girl’s trip, we love the small but mighty Art House Park City. This Airbnb is perched at the top of Main Street, so it’s within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. The property was recently renovated by local stylemakers CityHomeCollective and features modern-luxe furnishings and an outdoor hot tub (midnight soak, anyone?).

WHERE TO EAT + DRINK IN PARK CITY

Rise and shine with breakfast or brunch at Five5eeds. Fuel up on favorites like shakshouka, avocado toast, chia pudding, and green juice at this Aussie-inspired hot spot. Don’t miss the beautiful berry-topped hot cake and the savory waffle & chook, their take on traditional chicken and waffles (you’ll be back for seconds).

Head to Harvest, located at the bottom of Main Street, for coffee and a healthy + hearty lunch or breakfast. Try the toasted Paleo banana bread, house-made Muesli, or BLTA sandwich at this cozy local spot.

For a mid-day pick-me-up, check out Pink Elephant Coffee Roasters (try their charcoal latte for a detoxifying buzz) or Atticus Coffee & Teahouse, which doubles as a small bookstore. Grab some snacks and a sandwich or pack a picnic at Park City Provisions, a cafe, deli, and specialty market perched at the top of Main Street.

After a day spent skiing or hiking, refuel at one of Park City’s many dining options. Our favorite dinner destinations include Handle (order the General Tso Cauliflower—trust us), TupeloCafe Terigo (reserve a spot on the charming patio during summer), Riverhorse on Main, Firewood, and High West Distillery (known for its award-winning whiskey and hearty mountain fare—be sure to book a whiskey tasting!).

Spend an afternoon shopping a variety of locally owned boutiques and retailers located on Main Street. Check out Cake Boutique (and attached sister store C|Two by Cake, offering makeup and skincare), Flight Boutique, and Panache for a fashion fix; Park City Mercantile for locally made housewares; and Gorsuch for chic skiwear and après skiwear. Off Main Street, pop by Indigo Highway for candles, books, and other boho-chic items: Root’d for stylish home goods; Splendor Beauty Emporium for all things beauty; Wish Boutique for party goods; and Sien + Co for hand-knit sweaters and home goods including pillows, throws, rugs, and more (Gwyneth Paltrow and the GOOP team are fans).
