The Best Pommes Frites In Amsterdam

Happy National French Fry Day! (also known as the best day of the year)

It was love at first bite when we tried these pommes frites from Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx, a hole-in-the-wall takeaway fry shack we discovered while traveling in Amsterdam a few summers ago. The golden fries are served in a cone and topped with mayo and ketchup (aka fry sauce), and always eaten with a fork—never with your fingers. Be prepared to wait in line with tourists and locals alike to get your frites fix, but they’re worth the wait!
